Women's Ministry

The Women's Ministry is open to members of Messiah and their friends. The best way to be informed of events is to be added to the Women's Ministry REALM group and to watch the Weekly News.

The Ladies Lunch Bunch meets once a month at local restaurants for socialization and an opportunity to try new dining experiences. The group also collects a free-will offering to support current Messiah collections or in response to national or international crises.

The programming varies according to the interests of the members, but has included retreats, Sunday morning coffee and companionship, breakfast & speaker programs, Bible studies and book studies.

We also offer Divine Yoga sessions to all members of Messiah. The yoga sessions are free with an optional free-will offering to benefit a charity selected by the group.

  • Ladies Lunch Bunch

Each month ladies from Messiah meet at a local restaurant for lunch and conversation.

The group takes up a collection for a local organization or for one of the Community Outreach MInistry Collection.

If you have any questions or would like to be placed on the waiting list once the signup is full, please contact Claire Gensch at (920) 319-6731 or Mary Kedzie at 608-716-4600.

  • Divine Yoga

Divine Yoga is held two times a year.

The Fall Series is held in September and October. The Advent Series is held in December.

Divine Yoga sessions are open to all members of Messiah. The yoga sessions are free with an optional free-will offering to benefit a charity selected by the group.

    Women's Ministry Book Study -

Loving Jesus by Mark Allan Powell

    Tuesdays, March 11 - April 15th  - 10:30am - 12:00 noon - in the Meeting Room

Facilitated by Renee Kiel, a retired pastor and Messiah member who joined us for our fall book study. Her knowledge and insights are very helpful!

Powell is a Lutheran pastor and professor who is known for his humor and clear writing. Basically, it’s a book about how we can better love Jesus.

The book explores the Lutheran/Christian faith, what it means to live as a Christian in today’s world, and the importance of Christian practices and growing in one’s faith:

What does it mean to live out our faith in today’s culture?

What is the relationship between faith and certainty?

What does it mean for our faith to be both personal and corporate?

What is the relationship between divine grace and human commitment?

How do Christians balance worldly involvement with worldly detachment?

Please sign up for the book study by February 28th so we can get you a copy of the book. You can sign up on the Kiosk starting February 1st or you can let Elizabeth know at 608-235-6910 or volunteer@messiahchurch.com. The cost to participate is $8, to cover part of the cost of the book. We would never exclude anyone based on cost, so please let Elizabeth know if cost is a barrier.
