Family Faith Walk

God is our caring creator!

Family Faith Activity Overview:  Today or this week, take a walk in your neighborhood.  If you have a park or woods nearby, walk there together.  Before you go on your family walk, share the reading aloud and read the “Things to think about while you walk”.  When you return from the walk use the “A time to share” questions and discuss what you experienced.

Faith Walk Reading:  And God said, “Let the waters under the sky be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so.  God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.  Then God said, “Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees of every kind on earth that bear fruit with the seed in it.” And it was so.  Genesis 1:9-11.

Faith Walk – Things to think about while you walk:  Walk silently and put your senses to work and notice everything around you.  Take in what you see, what you hear, what you smell, and what you feel.  Pay attention to the little details and look for what is unusual or that you might otherwise overlook.  Remember what you saw, heard and noticed so that you can share it at the end of the walk

Faith Talk – A time to share:  What did you learn from this walk?  What surprised you? God has given us a world full of mysteries and wonders.  By studying and learning about the world around us we can grow closer to God.  Where did you especially see God’s handiwork today?
